From Bats To Breathtaking
The first house that I want to tell you about was in a tiny little town. State troopers and county officers take care of the police work type small town. They don't have a police department of their own. Abandon for 5 years. Clearly lead paint. The water had been shut off for almost a year, but so much was leaking in the basement that even the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would have found the amount of mold uninhabitable. Besides, a couple bats had already claimed that space. They seemed nice enough, and gratefully kept to themselves. The lead chips coming off the walls were big enough to be dipped in guacamole, and I stepped on every other stair as I went up, not for exercise, but so I wouldn't fall through. A previous (kid) tenant had painted red on the doorway with their hands. I think the angel of death would have ignored that door, had it passed by. (that's a Genesis reference, if you didn't get it). I was with another Realtor at the time, and he heard the bad make some comments about the foundation. That's about the time we left.
The house I saw the other day was on multiple acres and at least half was wooded. The rolling hill was easily visible through the floor to ceiling windows in the living room. You could almost see the quarter acre landing in the middle of the woods that held a fire pit and top notch outdoor furniture. You could almost see it from at least half of the 6 bedrooms. I'm 5'7" if I stand the way my chiropractor says I should, but even Shaq wouldn't have hit his head on the doorways, as they arced up high to accent the vaulted ceiling. The full wet bar in the basement had seating for 9, and you could walk out the side door directly on the patio. The detached 2,000 square foot garage held the boat and trampoline, along with plenty of other toys for all of your recreational traveling needs. Don't worry, the cars didn't get stuck behind the boat. They were in the attached 3 car garage that was heated and cooled. Did I mention the garden? Eh, don't worry about it.
